PART ONE: BREAKING THROUGH THE DARKNESS
As the year 2022 began, you may recall that the Sports Outreach team was claiming BREAKTHROUGH as our battle cry. We were trusting God to lead us to breakthrough in key areas such as field expansion, staffing, and the breaking down of strongholds that the devil had in many communities where we serve. God has led in some amazing ways, and during the last quarter of 2022 we’ll highlight them in a three-part series. It is through your prayers and partnership that Sports Outreach is now able to celebrate our year of BREAKTHROUGH!

New fields, infrastructure, vehicles, and activities are easy to take pictures of and share about. What’s harder is to encapsulate what they represent. These outward expressions of God’s faithfulness and provision mean that the light of Christ can breakthrough to places currently shrouded in darkness. They mean that children can learn to pray in Brazil, a dental clinic can be conducted in India, a soccer team can be driven to tournaments, visitors to Koro Farm can have a place to stay, Croatian village youth can hear the Gospel, children in El Salvador can avoid gang culture, and dreams can come true through education. And this is just scratching the surface! Indeed, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” (Isaiah 9:2)
