Basketball Tournament in Kampala

In January the SOM Uganda team organized a mini basketball tournament at Midland High School basketball court in Kampala. Three teams participated; the All Stars basketball team from Makerere, Jinja Kaloli Bulls from Kawempe; and the SOM own youth team. One of the goals of the tournament was to compare the status and development of their own youth team with the others but more than that, the priority was to share the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to all of the children and teenagers in attendance. Coach Kennedy and his team were able to share the gospel to an audience of 89 young basketball players!

The opportunity to share the Gospel can come at any time. Sports Outreach is blessed to have many dedicated coaches who are always prepared to make time to share. This is key to training up the next generation. A simple basketball tournament can become a place where kids can meet their Savior.
