Imitation is the Sincerest Form of ... Prayer?
Our sports ministry principles and practices include both “on the field” and “off the field” elements. Bible lessons and prayer are important parts of the off the field work that helps achieve our mission of making disciples and future leaders using sports as a platform.
Noah is one of our volunteer coaches in the Lynchburg, VA area. He has been helping with camps and clinics for about three years now. He shared the following “off the field” story from a recent camp:
“During the week of soccer camp, we always had a prayer time after our Bible lesson. The head coach asked the kids who they wanted to pray for. On Monday, one camper’s request was for her little brother to grow. After seeing her example, the other kids wanted to pray for their younger siblings too! It was so memorable because they were able to look up to each other and follow each others' examples.”
